Celestron Tripod for StarSense Explorer Tabletop Dobsonian Telescopes (#93480)

Raise your view—and your comfort—with this rugged, adjustable tripod designed for StarSense Explorer Tabletop Dobsonians.

Celestron’s StarSense Explorer Tabletop Dobsonians are compact, powerful, and incredibly convenient. But sometimes, you want to elevate your observing experience—literally. That’s where this custom-designed adjustable-height tripod comes in. Whether you're trying to raise the telescope above ground-level obstructions or simply want to avoid stooping or crouching, this sturdy tripod transforms your tabletop Dob into a full-height observing system.

Elevate Your Comfort and Your View

Let’s face it—while tabletop telescopes are great for portability and ease of use, they’re not always ideal for tall observers or uneven terrain. The Celestron 93480 tripod solves that by lifting your Dobsonian to a customizable height between 24" and 41". Whether you're sitting in a chair or standing under the stars, you can adjust the tripod to suit your comfort level and observing needs.

Raising your telescope also helps eliminate problems like fences, low shrubbery, or picnic tables that block your view. The result? More sky, less strain.

Rugged and Ready for the Outdoors

Don’t let its elegant appearance fool you—this tripod is built to handle field use. It features 1.5" diameter stainless steel legs with a cast aluminum head and a precision-machined mounting plate. Three captured screws on the underside securely anchor your StarSense Explorer Tabletop Dobsonian to the tripod, so there’s no wobble or slippage during long observing sessions.

The included accessory tray serves double duty: it holds five 1.25” eyepieces and also acts as a central brace, stiffening the entire structure and enhancing stability across all leg extensions.

Travel-Friendly Design

The entire tripod folds down to a compact 9" x 9" x 28" size and weighs just 9 lbs (4.08 kg)—light enough to carry to your favorite dark-sky spot, yet substantial enough to hold up to 25 lbs (11.34 kg) of telescope and accessories. Once you're done observing, the legs collapse inward and nest neatly beneath the top plate for easy storage and transport.

Compatibility

This tripod is designed specifically for the Celestron StarSense Explorer 114mm, 130mm, and 150mm Tabletop Dobsonians. It is not compatible with other Celestron scopes or third-party brands.

Observing Tip:

For quick setup, attach your telescope base to the tripod indoors under good lighting. Once it’s secured with the captured screws, you can carry the entire unit outside as a single, stable assembly—no fumbling with bolts in the dark.

Final Thoughts

The Celestron Tripod for StarSense Explorer Tabletop Dobsonians is a smart, sturdy upgrade that expands your telescope’s versatility and comfort. Whether you’re looking for a more ergonomic viewing experience or need a better line of sight above garden walls and trees, this tripod delivers. Lightweight, stable, and thoughtfully engineered—it’s the ideal match for your StarSense Explorer Dobsonian.
