Excluded Books of the New Testament, (Paperback)

"Excluded Books of the New Testament" provides a comprehensive examination of the early Christian writings that were omitted from the final biblical canon. This volume serves as an essential guide to the diverse literature of the early Church, offering readers access to gospels, epistles, and revelations that circulated alongside the canonical texts during the first centuries of Christianity. By presenting these neglected works, the book sheds light on the complex theological debates and historical processes that shaped the foundations of the faith.

The collection includes significant texts such as the Gospel of Nicodemus, the Protoevangelion of James, and the Shepherd of Hermas. Each selection offers unique insights into the varied beliefs, mystical traditions, and narratives that existed before the standardization of the New Testament. Through these writings, readers can explore alternative accounts of the life of Jesus, the experiences of the apostles, and the spiritual visions that influenced early Christian communities.

Valuable for both scholars of religious history and general readers interested in biblical origins, "Excluded Books of the New Testament" preserves the historical and literary richness of non-canonical scripture. It provides a deeper understanding of the evolution of Christian thought and the rich tapestry of voices that contributed to the early development of the religion.

This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
