The ABU series from Simpson Strong-Tie offers adjustable post bases, ideal for high-capacity applications. Engineered for robust, versatile connections between wood posts and concrete, these bases provide precise alignment during installation. Crafted with heavy-duty steel and an engineered stamped sheet metal base, they're suitable for both retrofit and new construction projects. A 1-inch standoff from concrete prevents rot, while a ZMAX galvanized coating ensures superior corrosion resistance and long-term durability. The ABU88Z model is designed for 8 x 8 posts. Installation involves ensuring the concrete surface is clean, level, and well-suited for anchoring, placing the base over the anchor bolt, securing it, positioning the wood post, and fastening it using recommended screws or nails. Sold in cartons of 4, these bases are designed for high-capacity applications, securing wood posts to concrete foundations with adjustability for precise alignment. They're heavy-duty, corrosion-resistant, and compatible with various post sizes. The ABU series is designed to attach wooden posts to existing concrete, offering a cost-effective, versatile option with maximum uplift performance.
